So I decided that with all the cooking I do, particularly healthy cooking, I thought I would add a recipe section to my blog. Here is my first recipe blog, a soup that I invented myself last night.



Prep Time

10 minutes

Cooking time

3-4 hours in a slow cooker or half hour stove top


1 can beef broth

1 beer

1 large can of crushed tomatoes

1 jalapeno, chopped up small

1-1.5 onions, chopped

approx. 0.5 lb turkey meat

approx. 0.5 lb ground beef

packet of taco seasoning

1/2-3/4 of package of frozen corn

kosher salt and freshly ground pepper for seasoning

Shredded cheddar cheese for garnish (optional)


Brown the two meats in a large pan.

In either a large pot on the stove, or in a slow cooker, place all ingredients. I used a slow cooker to really develop the flavors over the few hours of cooking. If using a slow cooker, spray it with Pam first. Season with salt and pepper.

After two hours, I tasted and added more salt.

And enjoy, super easy!! I sprinkled shredded cheddar cheese on top. I’m fighting a cold and the fresh jalapeno and spices helped with open up the sinuses for sure.  **This is a spicy soup**
