1. True Blood

We are currently 3 episodes in to the fourth season and, I am not going to lie. I am already not enjoying this season nearly as much as any other season (which I enjoyed right from the start). However, this show is still exciting, crazy, totally out there, and fun to watch. You never know what you are going to see. I just think that writer Alan Ball needs to drop a few of the many, many plot lines (enough with the damn panthers!). He doesn’t seem to know when to tie up stories and focus more on the more interesting ones, the ones the viewers care more about. I am publicly offering to lead up a focus group!  My two main ideas: focus more on Sam and Bill. PLEASE. I find them by far to be the most likeable characters and their dark sides are what makes them so interesting.

2. Game of Thrones

I liked this show from the start but I got more and more obsessed as the season went on. The second to last episode was very controversial and well publicized due to killing off  one of the main characters and most famous actors in the cast. And then the finale was just spectacular. The final scene was INSANE!! Such an amazing ending. I can’t wait for next season! You must catch up if you can!  And a special shout out for Peter Dinklage, who was wonderful in this show. I hope he gets a Golden Globe and/or an Emmy for his role as Tyrion Lanaster.

3. Forever 21
All of my favorite pieces from this summer so far are from a shop I did at Forever at the beginning of June. The two shirts I wore for my birthday weekend, a dress I wore to an engagement party recently, plus another tank and two adorable rompers…all for around $150. Can’t beat that! I wore one of the tanks for 3 days straight last month.

4. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 2

The new and last movie comes out Friday. I have watched all the movies again the past few months as a reminder, because I love them all so much, and because Craig had not seen any of them. He actually really likes them too! I am so excited to see this one but we have 2 more to watch first. And did these 3 kids grow up beautifully (and classy) or what?

5. The Frying Pan, NYC

I had my birthday party here last month and this place is amazing. It was actually my first time there and  I can’t wait to go back. If you haven’t been yet, go asap. It’s a great (but pricey) place for drinks on a gorgeous summer day/evening. You’d forget you were even in NYC if it wasn’t for the gorgeous views.

6. The Hunger Games

I started this book on Friday and am flying through it. It is amazing! I wanted to read it before the movie comes out next year. The plot is incredibly similar to the Japanese film, Battle Royale, which is an excellent film. Both the movie and this book are about futuristic societies that pin children again each other in a secluded area in which the children must fight to the death. Only one child can survive. Fascinating, creepy stuff. Rent the movie from Netflix and read this book before the movie comes out, starring Jennifer Lawrence in the lead role of Katniss Everdeen.

This is the class I have been loving at my gym. It stands for Vitality Performance and Resistance. We use a long rubber bar to do all kinds of resistance and cardio drills. It’s an intense (and fun!) 45 minute class I take every Wednesday.

8. Newport, Rhode Island

I just spent the past long weekend there with my parents. It must be our tenth summer going there and I love it as much as ever. It is a wonderful, quaint, fun beach town. Rhode Island beaches are incredible and the restaurant and bar scene in Newport is a blast. I already can not wait to go back! Check out the beautiful view from our apartment balcony….
