Last Friday I went to the famous NYC comedy club, the Comic Strip, with Craig and our friends Jordan and Shawn. It was a very far trip as Craig and I moved into an apartment in the same building last month.

I was really impressed by how theater-like the room was, as we cannot hear a thing and our apartment is two floors above. The comedy was laugh out loud funny and it was a unique and special way to spend a Friday night. I definitely recommend waiting until a Groupon or LivingSocial deal comes along, as otherwise it is about $25 a ticket plus the 2 drink minimum. Considering we spent $125 for 8 beers (and they automatically include gratuity), I highly recommend saving a few bucks on the ticket price if you can.

My Groupon cost $39 for four tickets plus two orders of popcorn and/or nachos. We ordered one of each. Other than the comedy, I say that when you go to the Comic Strip  Live you have to order these nachos. They took me right back to ordering nachos at a childhood baseball game or carnival, except maybe better. They were the same basic tortilla chips covered in cheese sauce but as good as I’d ever had. Warm, salty, crunchy and soft at the same time.  It was an incredibly satisfying munch and I had to eventually cover the leftover chips with my napkin so I didn’t eat the container.

YUM….. I recommend you take a trip uptown to my hopping new block (2nd Ave between 81 and 82) for a fun, laugh-filled night of comedy and cheesy goodness.

(Sorry guys for no picture of the nachos, the audience isn’t allowed to take any photos).
