The Emmys are this upcoming Monday, and any fan of television, celebrities, and/or fashion should be pretty psyched about it. This decade has helped solidify television roles as equally, if not more, coveted than any parts on the big screen. TV has never been so thrilling for actors and actresses to act on and for us viewers to watch. In honor of the 66th Emmy awards, let’s look back at some of the best dresses to walk the Emmy’s red carpet so far during this exciting decade.
The Downton Abbey star looked ravishing in a two-tone Prada gown in ruby-red duchesse satin and burgundy silk radzmire. The halter-style, low-back bustier top fastened at the back of the neck with a striking large bow-like detail, which complemented the flowing skirt.
The Breaking Bad star stunned in black and white Romona Keveza. She took home the win for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama. She looked the best we’ve ever seen her.
I’m not even sure what it is about the Girls star in this sapphire blue Ralph Lauren gown but she looks absolutely stunning. Classic, beautiful, and sophisticated. Perfect hair and makeup too.
The first time nominee (for Best Acress in a Comedy for Orange is the New Black) looked smokin’ in this white Thakoon Grecian-inspired gown with gold accents.
The Modern Family nominee wore this beautiful beaded Zuhair Murad dress that fit her body to a tee. She looked incredible in it, as usual and the ribbon halter was a very pretty accent. She looked like a gorgeous, sexy mermaid.
This is among the best looks that this amazing actress has ever worn. Here she is in a belted Stella McCartney illusion gown. Her body looks incredible. She was nominated that year for Best Actress in a Comedy for Nurse Jackie and is once again this year.
The Veep star and winner for Best Lead Actress in a Comedy looked elegant and modern in this structured, burgundy Vera Wang.
Not only one of the funniest, most brilliant people alive, Ms. Fey has a slammin’ body as well, and she always looks beyond beautiful at awards show. Here, she looked just perfect in this plum, column Vivienne Westwood gown.
Wowzers. The Vampire Diaries star did Old Hollywood glamour perfectly when she wore this red Donna Karen stunner.
Do we hate her or what? Just kidding, everyone loves her! That night, she wore a perfect coral Vera Wang with gorgeous draping in the back.
The Mad Men star worked her curves, like she always does, in a stunning custom dress by Johanna Johnson, encrusted with Swarovski crystals and glass beads. Without a doubt, one of her best looks ever.
Anna Paquin (dress #2)
The presenter wore this striking Alexander McQueen black dress with gold embellishments. The True Blood star looked totally sexy and chic, plus a black and gold combo works every time.
The How I Met Your Mother star wore this gorgeous turquoise Alberta Ferreti dress with knotted straps, a cinched waist and pleating on the skirt. She matched the look with smoky eyes and glamorous waves.
This is my favorite Claire Danes look of all time. The amazing Homeland actress wore this champagne-colored, sparkly dress from Armani Prive. She won an Emmy that night for her portrayal of Temple Grandin in the HBO biographical movie.
The perfect strapless fit and gorgeous wine color of this Monique Lhuillier gown helped The Closer star stand out as one of the night’s most beautiful women. As if winning the award that night for Lead Actress in a Drama Series wasn’t enough.
Dexter’s lead female looked modern, ultra feminine, and sexy in this one shouldered metallic gown by Oday Shakar. It was always fun for the fans to see this actress, who played an on-screen tomboy, dress up.
The 30 Rock star dazzled in a midnight blue Escada gown. Her custom one-shoulder silk cloque gown was accented with a side volant detail and a pouf on the shoulder. Her simple hair and makeup made all eyes focus on the luxe wardrobe choice.
