With just over one week until the Season 4 premiere of American Horror Story, Ryan Murphy and the gang have finally released an actual trailer of the action. No more creepy teasers, this new trailer finally shows scenes from the upcoming season, subtitled Freak Show.
Info has been out for months about basic story points, including that this season follows a German ex-Pat, played by the outstanding Jessica Lange, who runs one of the last freak shows in the U.S. The setting takes place where the freak show is stationed, in Jupiter, Florida, in 1950.
Roles have been revealed also for the major actors and actresses starring in the series, but as of yesterday, fans finally got to see some scenes of the action! In addition to Lange, celebrated actresses returning from Season 3 include Angela Bassett as a three-breasted woman, Sarah Paulson as a two-headed woman, and Kathy Bates as a bearded woman.
Here is the quick, action packed, one minute trailer. You will notice show costars Emma Roberts, Taissa Vermiga, and Denis O’Hare missing, but Evan Peters is front and center along with some other familiar faces (Hi there, Francis Conroy!). Also present is Michael Chiklis, who is new to the show and playing the show’s strongman and the father of Peters’s character.
The most fascinating part about the trailer to me was how Sarah Paulson portrays extreme personality differences between her two heads/attached beings.
Enjoy the show!
American Horror Story: Freak Show premieres next Wednesday, Oct. 8 at 10 pm on FX.
