The very first thing I want to say is that I love you guys, my readers (yum, I love the way that sounds – “my readers”). In the last year, Hot2Molly has grown a lot and me along with it and I have all of you to thank. Every single reader hit makes my heart sing, truly.
Since February, in addition to maintaining my blog, I’ve been an Entertainment and Fashion Editor for Celebritytoob and Shebudgets sites, respectively. It was the first time I got paid to write articles so I was officially a professional editorial writer (sweet!). Having to write multiple articles a day, five days a week was an amazing experience. It taught me that this is definitely what I was put on this planet to do (other than love my loved ones) and showed me that everyday, I am inspired by a multitude of things in the pop culture universe that I care for so much. Overall, writing for those sites was a great learning experience and very validating for my new career.
But this job did get in the way of putting all my (great! haha) ideas on Hot2Molly. Also, recently it occurred to me that my learning experiences were plateauing. It was time for a change. My ultra supportive fiancé has told me for over a year that my site should be my baby and I should aim to make a living from it, if at all possible. I have very recently decided that I am going to take his advice and focus all my attentions here, and use my free time to network, attend events, and get the word out on Hot2Molly. But it was important to me that I filled you all in on the changes you will be seeing.
The frequency of posts is going to increase dramatically, as in multiple posts most days of the week. I am asking, dear Hot2Molly readers, please do not unsubscribe to the site. Please just read the email name and see if the story interests you. If is doesn’t, you don’t even have to look at it (but I’m hoping it will!). Personally, I get three or four Us Magazine emails a day and I enjoy it. But if an email comes and I don’t care about the headline, I can ignore it.
All of your support means the world to me. I am aiming for the stars, hoping to be a JustJared or something like that one day down the line. Lofty goal, I know, but if I aim for the heavens, even if I don’t quite get there, I’ll still land somewhere between there and the ground.
I thought it was very prophetic that I randomly heard Natasha Bedingfield’s song, Unwritten, played during a gym class yesterday. I used to be inspired by this song back when it came out in 2004 and found it to be very inspiring to me again today! Here are some of my favorite lyrics.
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten.
My passionate pop culture lovers, here’s to the next chapter of Hot2Molly!
