Mostly everyone who watched the 2001 movie Bridget Jones’s Diary was a fan of both the sweet and funny comedy and of its stellar leading lady Renee Zellweger. This was not true of the sequel, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason (2004), present company included, but fans were happy to hear of the news that a third film was in the works. Zellweger has been famously missing in action from the big (or small) screen for some years now. She was completely out of the limelight for a few years until 2014, when she first reappeared and caused a stir about the way her face looked.

The Baby trailer was just released, and this time Miss Bridget is caught in a love triangle between her ex Mark Darcy and her new handsome boyfriend Jack, played by the dashing Patrick Dempsey. Except the will-they-won’t-they thing is a bit different this time, as Bridget sleeps with both gentlemen in the beginning of the movie, gets pregnant, and then has to figure out both whom she loves and who the father is.

The movies are based on the books by author Helen Fielding, about a woman who is unlucky in love and prone to embarrassing herself in social situations. Fielding released the third book, Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy, in 2013 but it is unknown how closely the third film follows that book’s plot. Emma Thompson, who plays Jones’ doctor in the movie, wrote the movie’s screenplay.

I, for one, am looking forward to seeing this! I’m not sure I’ll spring for a movie ticket but will definitely watch the film at some point. And it’s true, Renee does look a bit different in the movie but not distractingly so.
